First timer makes mark at IM70.3
Aeon Luxe Properties has thrown its support to promising young triathlete Christopher Lorenzo Miguel Aldeguer in the 2019 Alveo Ironman 70.3 in Davao City on Sunday.
The leading homegrown property developer presented its official bet in the biggest triathlon event in the country during a meet and greet event on Friday at the Aeon Towers Showroom in Bajada.
The 21-year-old Aldeguer, a graduate of BSBA Major in Business Operations Management with a specialization track in Business Analytics and resident of Pasig City, is a veteran endurance athlete who has set his sights on wearing the national team colors in future international competitions.
“I’ve been training for five months for Ironman and it has never been easy. I utilize my time by waking up early in the morning to bike before going to work and then do my swim training at night and run back home. I really hope all my trainings will be worth it as it is my first time to join the Ironman,” said Aldeguer who will don the no. 113 bib.
The Aeon Luxe carrier trained under the watchful eyes of father Toots who is a triathlete and also a mixed martial arts practitioner and organizer.
“Aeon Luxe will be there to show our support to Miguel. He is really good and he trained so well. We hope to see him win it,” Aeon Luxe Vice President for Marketing and Sales Erick Umali said.
Aldeguer’s best finish in a triathlon was a third place finish in the 20-24 years old division of the 2017 Aboitiz Triathlon in Pico De Loro, Batangas, on September 2, 2017. His other notable endurance race finishes include toping the overall men’s division of the 1st Pasig City Duathlon Challenge 2017 in Caniogan, Pasig City on August 26, 2017, first place overall (men’s and age group) in the Biathle 2017 at the Army Gym in Taguig on September 9, 2017, first place in the men’s division and fastest time in the standard distance of the Animo Aquathlon at the De La Salle Santiago-Zobel, Alabang Village on December 9, 2017, first place in the 19-29 age group category of the 2nd Baguio Aquathlon at the Baguio Athletic Bowl, Baguio City on December 30, 2017, fourth place in the 10K division of the 2018 Sun Life Resolution Run and first placer in the 18-24 category and second place overall in the 2nd Pasig City Duathlon 2018.
