Tagum City police admit that one of the factors the crime rate in the city continued to drop is the proliferation of investment schemes that have kept its residents financially stable.

Police Captain Anjanette Tirador, spokesperson of Tagum City Police Station, said that crime incidence in the city has continued to decrease since the start of 2019.

“Isa sa factors nga gi-consider sa pagbaba sa crime rate [kay ang] mga investment activities po sa Tagum (One factor that crime rate is down is the investment activities in Tagum) . Not because of Rigen alone or any investment company for that matter. Daghan factor po, sir, but isa na na ma-consider (There are many factors but that is being considered),” she said.

Rigen Marketing is a new startup company based in Tagum City, Davao del Norte and has expanded to other provinces of Davao Oriental Occidental, and Davao del Sur, and other neighboring cities and municipalities like General Santos City. It seeks “to help the financial needs of individuals by providing a concrete system allowing ordinary people to have solid additional income,” according to SEC advisory against Rigen Marketing.

This firm is engaged in soliciting “investments” and promises to the public a guaranteed return of 400 percent in just less or more than 30 days and operated by personalities who are said to be “Big Players” in Forex and Crypto-currency Trading and are duly licensed in Singapore.

“Dili po solely ang Rigen but the investment activities maybe because mostly are earning, my own opinion po,” Tirador added.

Although the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had already issued an advisory on May 24 against investing in Rigen Marketing for it may be a “fraudulent investment scheme”, she added that there were no complaints yet reported in their office regarding this investment scheme.
