Iwas four months preggy when I walked down the aisle. It was the most beautiful moment in my life. I felt like I am the most beautiful woman in town, wearing my P2,000-worth custom-made gown.
It may sound very entitled, but, let’s admit it, that’s how every bride should feel. She deserves to be completely happy, wearing her most desired design and comfort on her special day without spending a fortune.
A fellow blogger, Mommy Jane, introduced me to her friends — Lucen “Zen” Ranis, Demi Sevilla, and Benjie Magdamo — who are starting up a bridal gown shop named Bridal PH.Dy that aims to help brides afford their dream dress. They are located at Unit B1-7 Plaza de Bole, F. Torres St., Davao City

The facade of the shop is intimidating because of the elegant gowns displayed from the inside. But as you inquire, you will be flattered how these stunning dresses do not dig a hole in your pocket.
They allowed the Davao Mommy Bloggers — Mommy Andrea, Mommy Jessa, Mommy Sunshine, and me — to try on their gowns. We have different tastes when it comes to cut and details, considering our body built, height, and personality.
I was wearing an “elegant spaghetti strapped sexy neckline semi bouffant gown in woven pleating detail in crisp off white multi layered crystal tulle accentuated with a detailed rushing and pleating.”
Wearing a wedge (HAHA!) helped me flaunt the gown. It looks classy but it is up for grabs for only P8,000 (to compare, this style costs P15,000 in other gown shops.)
“We will give what the bride wants. We will adjust according to her budget and needs. We want her to feel special and elegant without sacrificing thousands of money,” the owner, Zen, said.
What’s nicer is that they are also very supportive to plus-size women as they advocate against body-shaming.
Bridal PH.Dy offers package rates from P10,000 to P30,000 with inclusions for vest/suit for the groom, bestman, groom’s men, and bearers, and gowns for the maid of honor, bridesmaids, and flowergirls. These packages also offer freebies like veil, baskets, cushions, pre-nup outfits, gowns/suits for parents of both couple.
No less than Demi Sevilla, a professional make-up artist, also makes every woman extra beautiful.
Gowns for debut and proms are also available.
