DAVNOR, PILOT PROVINCE OF ‘ONE DA’
DAVAO DEL NORTE – The province of Davao del Norte is set to be the “pilot province” to implement the Department of Agriculture’s ONE DA program.
This announcement was made during a “consolidated initial meeting” between the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Davao Region and the Provincial
Government recently, January 14, 2021 at the Tahanan ng Gobernador, Capitol, Tagum City.
According to the Provincial Information Office, the province was chosen because of Governor Edwin I. Jubahib’s food-sufficiency program, Kaagapay (Kawsa sa Agrikultura ug Panginabuhian sa Barangay).
ONE DA is the DA’s program with a “holistic approach to agriculture and fisheries transformation”, which features “12 key strategies” to grow the country’s agriculture starting this year, 2021.
Jubahib said that ONE DA “highlights” the unity of the national and local government and the private sector towards agricultural development in the community.
As such, he assured that the provincial government is ready to support the sustainment and success of the program.
During the initial meeting, the bureaus and agencies under the DA, and the invited private sectors presented their contributions and suggestions regarding ONE DA.
The Provincial Information Office said that consultations and meetings will continue to be conducted until all of the documents and requirements needed for the implementation of the program are prepared. /
