‘DEVELOPMENT-FOCUSED’ RESEARCHES
DOST-Davao urges through DRDA 2023-2028 Utilization Workshop
THE Department of Science and Technology-Davao Region (DOST-Davao), in partnership with the National Economic Development Authority-Davao Region and the University of Southeastern Philippines recently spearheaded a significant initiative aimed at advancing regional development through the Davao Region Development Research Agenda (DRDRA) 20232028 Utilization Workshop.
The workshop served as a platform to advocate for the implementation of DRDRA and to establish a robust monitoring system for its effective utilization.
The DRDRA 2023-2028 is envisioned as a comprehensive roadmap for research initiatives strategically designed to address the unique challenges faced by communities in the Davao Region. The agenda aims to align efforts, maximize impact, and propel sustainable development across the region.
Dr. Anthony C. Sales, DOSTDavao Director, emphasized the importance of this workshop in driving regional progress.
“The DRDRA 2023-2028 Utilization Workshop is a crucial step in translating research into tangible benefits for our communities. By implementing this agenda effectively and establishing a monitoring system, we can ensure that our efforts result in meaningful and sustainable development,” Dr. Sales said.
The workshop brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including academia, government, industry, and civil society organizations to collaborate on strategies for incorporating DRDRA into their respective initiatives. Through interactive sessions and discussions, participants explored ways to integrate research findings into practical solutions and policies.
DRDRA serves as a guide for researchers, policymakers, and community leaders to focus their efforts on initiatives that directly contribute to the region’s development goals. By providing a clear direction for research, the agenda aims to accelerate progress and address pressing issues faced by the communities in Davao Region.
As part of the broader efforts to promote science and technology for regional development, DOST-Davao continues to play a pivotal role in empowering communities through innovative solutions and strategic initiatives.
The utilization workshop aligns with DOST-Davao’s commitment to fostering collaboration and ensuring that research efforts translate into tangible benefits for the region. Through the effective implementation of DRDRA, the Davao Region can look forward to a future marked by sustainable development, innovation, and improved quality of life for its communities. /
