DAVOR CELEBRATES INT’L WOMEN’S MONTH
IN HONOR of women’s greatness and value in society, the Schools Division of Davao Oriental has championed initiatives to celebrate International Women’s Month.
The programs and activities featuring women’s rights, protection, responsibilities, and contributions highlighted the weekly celebration.
On Week 1, the DepEd Division Office held a Eucharistic Mass as an opening activity, followed by a raffle draw of grocery items for ten lucky female division personnel.
The essence of the celebration was even more emphasized in Week 2 when a seminar on relevant laws concerning women’s rights, in partnership with Davao Oriental Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, was conducted through Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Apple Cherrie Amolata-Javier as Keynote Speaker.
As Week 3 came in, an outreach program at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office- Davao Oriental Reception Study Diagnostic Center (RSDC)- (a special facility for women and children) was made possible.
On Week 4, the celebration will be another taste of activity as the Division will hold a Free Pap Smear for all DepEd Davao Oriental employees in partnership with Mati City Health Office.
Every week shines with beauty and delight as selected DepEd Davao Oriental employees receive beauty products and grocery items as raffle prizes sponsored by RDL Laboratories and the Filipino-Chinese
Chamber of Commerce.
The success of the DepEd DavOr’s celebration for Women’s Month is attributed to the leadership of its female servant leaders - Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Josephine L. Fadul and Assistant SDS Phoebe Gay L. Rafamonte, the efforts of facilitators Mary Grace O. YrayMercado, Division GAD Focal Person, Cherry Ann Verana Quibo, SEPS, and other division personnel in partnership with supportive stakeholders. /
