- BY ROJEAN GRACE PATUMBON RGP

MIKEY Aportadera, officer-in-charge of the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO), told SunStar Davao on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, that discounts at select establishments and tour packages arranged by the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) await delegates of the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2024.

He said, “There are discounts available at certain establishments, and tour packages are possibly offered by the City Tourism Operations Office. Delegates simply need to present their Davraa Meet 2024 ID to avail.”

Regarding the stalls at the Davao City University of the Philippines Mindanao (DCUP)-sports complex, the City Economic Enterprise (CEE) will oversee the food and souvenir bazaar during the opening and closing of Davraa.

Aportadera noted that while events will occur in the city proper, the DCUP will attract crowds during opening and closing ceremonies.

The CEE opened opportunities for public participation through a raffle for merchandising spaces.

Aportadera underscored that food stalls must adhere to City Health Office (CHO) regulations for food quality and preparation.

Angel Sumagaysay, Head of PSSO, speaking at the ISpeak media forum at the new City Health Office (CHO) building, stated that ambulant vendors will be prohibited from selling at the DCUP-sports complex to avoid potential health risks to players.

“Isa na siya gina disallow natu ang ambulant vendors dahil wala ta kabalo ug gi unsa na nila pagluto unya basin mahatod or madaot na atoang mga players (We disallow ambulant vendors because we are unsure of their food preparation, which may pose health risks to our players),” he said. /
