the Korean businessman by strangling him inside a vehicle parked near the AIDG office in Camp Crame, hours after they took them. From Camp Crame, he said Ick-joo’s body was brought to a funeral parlor in Caloocan.

Difference in NBI, PNP investigation On Sunday, Aguirre also said that there are several circumstances surrounding the incident that should be looked into more closely, as the result of the separate investigations being conducted by the PNP as well as the NBI may differ.

He said one of the circumstances was the recovery of the golf set by the PNP from the funeral parlor where Ick-joo was brought.

Aguirre said the golf set may have been planted, citing that the NBI who conducted a search on the said place prior to the PNP did not see any golf set there.

On Thursday, Ick-joo’s wife confirmed that the golf set recovered by the PNP in Gream Funeral Parlor in Caloocan belonged to his husban d.

The PNP-Anti-kidnapping Group said according to Villegas, the golf set along with P30,000 was used to pay the funeral service.

He also mentioned that the actual vehicle used for the crime as seen on the CCTV footages differs from the vehicle owned by Sta. Isabel’s wife, which is allegedly the one used in abducting Ickj oo.

“At the rate things are going, the results of the investigation of the NBI and the PNP could be different,” Aguirre said.

“If that happens, the results of the investigation could be consolidated and it’s up to the prosecutors to determine which is more believable,” he added.

‘Fall guy’ However, for his part, Sta. Isabel said he was just a “fall guy,” pointing at his superior Superintendent Rafael Dumlao, a team leader at the PNP-AIDG, as the real mastermind of the crime.

Showing documents which may prove that he was in Camp Crame during the date of the incident, Sta. Isabel said Dumlao asked him to join the supposed operation in Angeles City, Pampanga but he refused.

“Nagulat nga ako may dala silang tao– ‘yung grupo ni Attorney Dumlao, di ko kilala ‘yung ibang kasama niya. Sabi nila dalhin mo ‘tong babae, itapon mo. Patayin mo, ikaw na bahala diyan kasi kami na bahala dito sa isa,” said Sta. Isabel, adding that instead of killing Morquicho, he gave her money and dropped her off along Balete Drive in Quezon City and instructed her to hide.

Denying having a hand in the killing of Ickjoo, Sta. Isabel said he only helped Dumlao’s cohorts in disposing Ick-joo’s body and instructed them to bring his body in a funeral parlor in Cal oocan .

“Di ako natatakot kasi sa katotohanan lang tayo. Kahit mapatay ako, at least naibunyag ko po na wala akong kinalaman diyan, sila talaga ang may plano niyan,” he said.

Earlier, PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa said Sta. Isabel is confident that he can get his way out of the case as he is being backed with a former police general who is trying to damage the PNP war against illegal drugs. (Third Anne PeraltaMalonzo/ SunStar Philippines)
