Physical education activities can be carefully structured to motivate students’ cooperation and sense of their cohesiveness. This is particularly important in a class in which various cultures are together. All these activities Positive Multicultural Interaction(PEMI). Bonding among students occurs over time using games that encourage collaboration, group identification, equalization of opportunity rather than elimination a focus on participation rather than winning, and inclusion of players at various ability levels. An example of such an activity is “Chaotic Team Juggle” in which students toss 8 to15 soft “trash” balls(made of loosely packed paper held together with a rubberband or two. The only rule in tossing is that the passer must meet eye contact with the receiver before throwing. There are so many balls (about one of every three students) that students are constantly involved, and the eye contacts support a subtle bonding effect between players”.
Several games and activities successfully combine linguistic and sensory motor stimulation. A games such as “Hot Potato” can help students learn parts of the body while involved in engaging activity. The leader get students thinking by asking them what they’d do if a hot potato came near them The leader then pushes the ball, warning students not to let touch any part of the body. They must push away with their hand only. As the ball pushed around and across the circle, students usually chime in with “watch out, it’s coming to your leg” and other such warnings. — oOo— I at Andres M.
