EDUCATING IS TEACHING THE MINDS EXPERTLY, TOUCHING HEARTS EXPERTLY AND TRANSFORMING LIVES

Teaching/Educating people is a mission just like priesthood it is a calling from God. He chose us “Teachers” to serve other people and to be an instrument or agent of change.

As an educator we all are known to be the molders and nurtures of young minds. Teachers should teach their pupil or student the I knowledge and skills that they can use or apply in their everyday living. But we should not only teach them knowledge, we should make it a point that are students are being taught expertly meaning learning is a taking place or quality education was acquired. The knowledge/ Learning that they acquired from us should be a great help in order for them to become a competent and productive citizen of the nation.

As an educator we are also model to our students and known to be the surrogate mother/ father of our children. There’s saying that values are caught rather than taught. To touch the hearts of our pupils expertly we must accept the responsibility on the challenge for us to make our students.

An upright individual/citizen. We have to love and care our students and understand them or getting involve with them is one of the best way on how we can touch the hearts of our students. Just like what Jesus did when he taught the Jews and Israelites he teach out to them and he made himself a model or example of the good values he taught. As the second parent of the children, we should always be willing to give an helping hand for them and we should lend them our two Ears to listen to their problem and accomplishment, our two eyes to watch if their action are proper or not, our two hands to help them when they’re down and most specially our big hearts to love, care, appreciate their lives and make the best out of it.

And lastly as an educator we should be good catalyst of change, that means we have to transform lives expertly.

Making our students an asset of this nation rather than liabilities is our major responsibility as an agent/ catalyst of change. We must make it a point that our pupils will learn from us. If our students learn from us and change for the better, they will touch and transform other lives too. They should share to other people what they got from us and that’s really the meaning of education, continuous process and sharing of experiences.

I have been guided by other saying “be proud we are TEACHERS, the future depends on us” so to serve the future and the life to other people, we TEACHERS should move, share what we have and TEACH MINDS EXPERTLY, TOUCH HEARTS EXPERTLY AND TRANSFORM LIVES EXPERTLY. — oOo— The author is Teacher II at Planas Elementary School, Porac Pampanga
