Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza top bill 'Destined To Be Yours'

TUnder the direction of Irene Villamor, the upcoming primetime series tells the story of Benjie Rosales (Richards) and Sinag Obispo (Mendoza) set in a picturesque town "where anything seems possi bl e."

Richards plays an architecture graduate who is determined to make a name for himself by heading a big construction project in the mountains of Pelangi.

Fate would eventually work its magic when he crosses paths and falls in love with the province radio jock, played by Mendoza.

Richards said he’s happy to be back in doing teleseryes after a two-year break.

He said it's very different from what they do in the Kalyeserye segment of "Eat Bul aga."

"Medyo malaking adjustment nito kasi galing ako sa live teleserye. Pero sobrang saya ko kasi na miss ko gumawa ng teleserye kasi doon talaga ako nag-start. Pakiramdam ko na sobrang dami kong pwedeng ibigay sa soap na ito," he said.

Mendoza, for her part, said she's excited to finally appear in her first full teleserye.

The breakthrough star said she doesn't feel any pressure even with the high expectations of their fans.

"Excitement ang nararamdaman ko, lalo na't first time namin makita ang trailer and 'yong music video. So, parang nae-excite kami talaga ni Alden na makita kung ano ba yung kinalabasan ng ginawa nami n."

Mendoza said the show is challenging for her because they had to tape scenes in the mountains and they work long hours. But she's happy to learn something new in the industry, she added.

She's also ready for the reaction of the fans and made sure to take acting workshops to be at par with her co-stars.

"Yun po siguro 'yong biggest adjustment po na kailangan kong gawin kasi talagang walang tulog, walang pahinga. Pero laban nang laban kahit walang kalaban sabi nga ni Nathan," she sai d.

As for their director, Richards said he's happy to finally work with Villamor, who also directed "Camp Sawi".

"Maganda po kay Direk Irene, binibigyan niya kami ng chance to go beyond the script. Minsan after the scene, tinutuloy po namin 'yon, hindi po nagka-cut si Direk para maipakita kung ano pa ang pwedeng gawin."

Also part of the new series are Ronnie Henares, Ina Feleo, Sheena Halili, Dominic Roco, RJ Padilla, Juancho Trivino, Koreen Medina, Tommy Abuel, Gardo Versoza, Lotlot de Leon, Janice de Belen and Boots Anson Roa.
