CLARK

FREEPORT --The ePLDT has inaugurated a disaster-proof data center which is envisioned to support developing businesses in Clark and other parts of Central Luzon.

The Vitro Clark, which is ePLDT’s ninth data center following the recent inauguration of Vitro Davao City, can withstand any disaster.

The facility, with an initial funding of P1.3 billion, was designed and built based on seismic zone 4 standards. This enables the data center to withstand earthquakes up to magnitude 8 on the Richter scale.

Vitro Clark also employs 11 layers of physical security equipped with vein-scanning biometric devises to ensure the highest level of clients’ confidence, said Eric Alberto, ePLDT Group President and PLDTGroup Chief Revenue Officer.

The data center was established to provide local enterprises a highly robust production site and a disaster-recovery facility for business in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon island, according to Alberto.

“We want to ensure that enterprises, wherever they are in the country, are able to tap into global quality data center services for their businesses,” Aberto said. “We continuously expand the Vitro network to deliver the highly scalable, reliable, and secured infrastructure that enterprises need.”

Vitro Clark complements the Vitro data center network which is already present in eight other locations in Makati, Paranaque, Cebu, Subic, Davao, Taguig, and Pasig.

Nerisse Ramos, ePLDT Group Chief Operating Officer, said that many companies in various sectors have been expanding their operations north of Manila and Vitro Clark can help them with the best support facility.

“With the robust and secured facility operated according to global standards, combined with a growing and highly capable workforce, players in these industries particularly the IT-BPO and finance industries will find doing business in Central Luzon a sound strategic choice,” Ramos added.
