- BY ERIKA MARIEL GINES Staff Writer

CLTV36, Metro Luzon’s first and only regional television station continues to rise in the broadcast industry as it goes further on its 10th year.

In her message during a recent gathering with the local media, CLTV36 President and General Manager Sonia P. Soto, shared that the whole team behind the awardwinning channel worked hard to achieve where it stands today.

“Napakahirap ng pinagdaanan namin. It’s really a struggle for a local TV station to survive. It’s like swimming in a sea full of sharks. There are many challenges that came our way, but with perseverance and determination, we were lucky to have overcome every obstacles,” she said.

She furthered that the journey is worthwhile as the station has received numerous achievements and feats over the course of ten years.

It could be noted that CLTV, a subsidiary of the Laus Group of Companies, was launched on March 19, 2007. Its 10,000-watt transmitter is located at the Clark Freeport Zone and its studios are located in the City of San Fernando, Pam pan ga.

From its inception, the network was designed to serve the region through its locally oriented news, public affairs, and infotainment programs.

According to Soto, she is thankful for the opportunities and recognitions the network has received.

“One of the best gifts we have received this year was being hailed as a three-time Best Provincial TV Station by the KBP Golden Dove Awards. Another momentous feat for CLTV36 is to be recognized by the Holy Angel University Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards as the Best Local TV Station in the region. It’s really heartwarming that our kababayans support and trust us,” she shar ed.

Furthermore, Soto also expressed gratitude for being ranked among major national TV networks in the Philippines.

Recently, leading global information and measurement company Nielsen, announced that CLTV36 rose up to rank 12 in audience reach nationwide, while reaching rank 19 in terms of ratings.

“We know that CLTV36 is one of the youngest TV station in the country, so it’s a privilege to be recognized among other established national channels and TV networks. We thank Nielsen for giving us a chance and for helping us improve along the way,” Soto said.

For her part, Nielsen Media Executive Director Tin Amper, lauded the network for its exceptional performance.

“When we measured CLTV, it meant that it achieved the standards of Nielsen wherein you have to be seen or watched by at least 30 people within a particular area, such as Mega Manila, National Urban, and North Central Luzon for 12 consecutive weeks. Us being a third party in independent measurement for television, it is of great achievement of CLTV36 being a regional channel to be leveled among national feed channels nationwide,” she said.

“On our February data, CLTV36 ranked among channels such as HBO which is already here for decades and PBO which is the number one Tagalog channel in the rural. It’s rare for a channel that’s newly rated by Nielsen, so we would like to extend our congratulations. We’re happy to be your partners as you go on your 10th year and beyond,” she added.

Moreover, Soto disclosed that the network will continue giving service to the people of Central Luzon, providing balanced, hyper local, and infotainment, as aligned with its tagline “Bayan angInuuna”.

“We will improve our regional content, because we really want to develop CLTV3 6 as an infotainment channel that caters to our karehiyons. We will continue to uphold our mission to be an enabler of public good for the people of Central Luzon,” she said.

To date, CLTV36 continues to widen its reach not only with millions of viewers in Central Luzon, but the rest of the country with 44 cable partners and more than 84,000 household subscribers in the region as well as in Rizal and Cavite.

The infotainment channel is also watched by over 5.2 million viewers in Central Luzon and 1.2 million viewers nationwide via Cignal Channel 115. Its content is also available to worldwide audiences through livestreaming at www.cltv36.tv, the CLTV36 Livestreaming App, in the iOS and Android platform.
