PRICELESS
LORNA M. DAVID
Education is the key to success. Most people say this. There are people who made this true. Education is one of the most priceless thing in this world that you can have in your whole life and that no one can get it from you. Once you have it, no one will try to mock you because they know you are educated. But how about those who weren’t able to have their education because of some factors? Aren’t they also capable of knowing their rights? Will they be forever mocked by people who wanted to?
Being educated means a lot in this world of ours today. There are people who value this a lot. But there are also people who have the money and have the capability of finishing their studies and can study in a school where they want to but don’t know the value of it. Can’t they feel how lucky they are because of having the freewill to study? Finishing at least secondary education is a must in our country. Specially nowadays, one of the basic requirements when applying for job is to be at least a high school graduate. That is why education is very important.
You are lucky enough if you have the privilege to pursue your study until tertiary level. By doing this, a brighter future awaits you. But how come those who can afford to study college are the ones who don’t have the perseverance in doing so? While those who are doing everything they can just to continue it are suffering? Will they always waste their time and opportunity plus the energy doing nothing? Why don’t they do something wherein they can benefit most? If one of the factors why they can study is the lock of financial support, there are scholarship grants that they can apply for. They can also work to support their financial needs just know their priorities and that nothing will suffer. Anyway there are students, successful professionals now, who pursue their study while working. They were able balance their study and their work. They have the eagerness to finish their study because they have their dreams to make. They have their dreams to turn into reality.
Being educated is one of the most valuable thing on earth. Without it, you will be degraded but if you have it, you will be respected. But being educated, you must also know your limits. You must always weigh every situation. You must know when to speak for your right. You must always put in mind that you are educated. — oOo— The author is Master Teacher II at San Pablo 2nd National High School
