4Ps members get financial assistance

SAN SIMON – Some 25 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recently received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD) and local government here.

Under the DSWD’s Sustainabl­e Livelihood Program, 4Ps members from barangays Concepcion, San Miguel, San Nicolas and Sto. Nino received their checks amounting to P20,000 that will be used for their dressmakin­g course.

According to Municipal Social Welfare and Developmen­t Officer Arminda Abenoja, dressmakin­g is one of the many livelihood programs of DSWD which are taught to beneficiar­ies.

She said that the program aims to provide a source of income to indigent recipients to help their families.

Mayor Leonora Wong’s Executive Assistant Perlito “Dong” Dagdag, Jr., for his part, said the local government will never stop supporting all the livelihood programs of the national government especially of the DSWD.

He cited the benefits and advantages that such programs bring to the beneficiar­ies and to developmen­t of the local gover nment .
