4Ps members get financial assistance
SAN SIMON – Some 25 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recently received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local government here.
Under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program, 4Ps members from barangays Concepcion, San Miguel, San Nicolas and Sto. Nino received their checks amounting to P20,000 that will be used for their dressmaking course.
According to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Arminda Abenoja, dressmaking is one of the many livelihood programs of DSWD which are taught to beneficiaries.
She said that the program aims to provide a source of income to indigent recipients to help their families.
Mayor Leonora Wong’s Executive Assistant Perlito “Dong” Dagdag, Jr., for his part, said the local government will never stop supporting all the livelihood programs of the national government especially of the DSWD.
He cited the benefits and advantages that such programs bring to the beneficiaries and to development of the local gover nment .
