Sharon-Gabby movie still happening this 2017

-

MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta confirmed that her movie project with Gabby Concepcion will still push through. In a recent interview with the actress, she said that they will hopefully start shooting the film next month.

"I always think, naku my fans will be disappointed kapag hindi na naman. So, I'm just quiet na lang. I'll believe it when we started shooting, no, when we're halfway through the movie. We're scheduled dapat March pero naging April."

According to Cuneta, they need to finish it before middle of this year as she also has a concert abroad in June and will be doing "The Voice of the Philippines Teen Edition."

She said they cannot move it anymore as she also has other commitments to honor.

Cuneta also disclosed that she was supposed to work with a different leading man but she asked Star Cinema executives if they could grant the request of the fans.

"Ibang ka-love team ko. Sabi ko, 'Okay lang, tita, kung tatanggapin. Ayaw mong i-try na lang muna 'yong Gabby?' Ako yung nakipaglaban. Sabi ko, matagal nang hinihintay ng fans namin."

The actress said she's also okay in doing a family drama or be paired with former leading men Richard Gomez, Robin Padilla or Aga Muhlach, but she pushed for her on-screen team up with Concepcion. She said it's all for the fans. "Napaka-glossy ng team up namin, gusto ko lang siguro na ma-experience ulit ng fans namin. Sa akin, kahit anong ipagawa sa akin, okay lang."

"Not so much for myself. Truth be told, I have bigger hit with other leading men. And I have bigger hits on my own. It's really for the fans. There's been a clamor for it since he came home. That was how many years ago. Noon, ako 'yong medyo hesitant. Ngayong naging open na sa lahat.

Cuneta said they have both matured as actors and the movie could serve as a closure to their team up or a new beginning for the Sharon-Gabby love team.

"Ang daming puwedeng gawin kasi it's such a strong brand na minahal ng mga tao. It's such a strong brand na minahal ng mga Pilipino. That's all, parang gusto ko lang pagbigyan yung gusto nila kasi I know there's whole generation that watched us and grew with us. Parang closure and a new beginning."

The actress added that she has the full support of her family, especially her husband, Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.

She said Pangilinan's only concern was if she's comfortable doing the movie.

"Noong nalaman niya, okay, 'Basta if it's okay with you, it's okay with me.' Ganun si Kiko. Then, I would hear na gusto rin ni ya."

Cuneta and Concepcion had the love team to beat during the 80s.

Their reel team-up turned to real romance when they tied the knot in September 1984 and welcomed a daughter, Maria Kristina Cassandra, or more famously known as KC, the year af t er.

The marriage turned sour and the two legally separated in 1993.

Concepcion was then linked to several names in the business while Cuneta met and married Pangilinan years l at er.

The Sharon-Gabby love team graced the big screen in hit movies "Dear Heart," "Una Kang Naging Akin," and their last project "Tayong Dalawa" in 1992. (SunStar Philippines)
