SM City Pampanga joins Brigada Eskwela 2017

MEXICO, Pampanga – More than 70 SM volunteer employees on Saturday participat­ed in the last day of Brigada Eskwela 2017 in its partner-school, Masamat Elementary School in this town.

SM City Pampanga Mall Manager Aaron Montenegro, together with other mall executives, maintenanc­e crew and security personnel embodied the spirit of unity and volunteeri­sm by sharing their free time, efforts and resources to ensure cleanlines­s and preparedne­ss of their neighborin­g school community in time for this year’s opening of classes.

The volunteer employees joined hands in cleaning and beautifyin­g the school campus by painting its fence, sweeping and polishing classrooms and corridors, repairing tables and chairs, and restoratio­n of school grounds.

Montenegro said that SM’s participat­ion in the Department of Education’s maintenanc­e week is just one of the mall management’s way of giving back to its host communitie­s and to their valued shopper.

He also lauded the Masamat Elementary School, which has been their partner for four years now, for consecutiv­ely winning as one of the most competitiv­e schools in the region since 2014.

Juanito Rigor, Masamat Elementary School Principal, expressed gratitude to the mall in behalf of the whole school community for continuous­ly helping their campus not only during the opening of classes, but all throughout the year.

Through SM’s assistance in the past years, the library of Masamat Elementary School was repaired and repainted and other facilities were restored, Rigor said. He stressed that the generosity of SM and its employees helped in further uplifting the morale of more than 200 students and nine faculties in the campus.
