Drug surrenderer nabbed in buy-bust

ARAYAT – A self-confessed drug user who voluntarily surrendered to authorities few months ago was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation launched by local police her e.

The 28-year old Randy Reyes initially joined the group of drug surrenders who sworn to recant the use of illegal drugs on August 2016 under the Oplan Double Barrel of the Philippine National Police.

Superintendent Samuel Sevilla, town police chief, said that information received by their office revealed that Reyes has continued his illegal vice.

“So naging subject siya ng surveillance siya ng intelligence group namin for three weeks to prove the information reaching our station,” Sevilla said.

Upon gathering intelligence report, the Arayat police operatives implemented the buy-bust operation which led to the suspect’s arrest.

Confiscated from Reyes’s possession were one sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and a P500 marked money.

Reyes is now detained in the Arayat Municipal Police Station and is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
