Deped-3 calls for research proposals

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The department of Education Regional Office III (DepEd-3) Research Committee through Policy, Planning and Research Division (PPRD) is now accepting research proposals for the Basic Education Research Fund.

Submission of research proposals will take place twice each year. The first cycle was started last April and the second cycle will start in September.

Proponents are given one month to submit their proposals. All research proposals must be anchored on the reformulat­ed Regional Research Agenda which was issued to SGOD Chiefs and Senior Education Program Specialist (SEPS) in-charge of planning and research of each Schools Division of Region III.

Three hard copies and an electronic copy of the research proposal must be submitted on or before May 31, 2017 to the Policy, Planning and Research Division Office.

Maximum of three members per research proposal only. As long as you are permanent/ regular employee of DepEd, Teaching or Non-Teaching

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— A 10-year old girl from Del Pilar village here is this year’s Little Miss Fernandina 2017.

Angelica Shayne Legaspi of Barangay Del Pilar was named as Little Miss Fernandina 2017 during the coronation night held Friday at SM City Pampanga.

Legaspi outshined 11 candidates after bagging numerous awards including Little Ms. McDonalds, Best in Talent (first Runner up), Best in Summer Wear, Best in Evening Gown, Ms. Winsome Smile, and Prinsesita ning Flores De Mayo.

Other candidates who landed in the top five were Yvonne Sarah Garcia of Barangay San Juan, first runner up; Rhian Bongalon of Barangay Del Rosario, second runner up; Ashley Salunga of Barangay Telabastag­an, third runner up; and Kezia Yutiese Cudia of Barangay Quebiawan, fourth runner up.

During the pageant, the city government also recognized the parents of all the candidates through a special tribut e.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said that the event is not merely a showcase of talents but also a way of acknowledg­ing parents who nurture their children to become bet t er Fer nandi nos.

“We see to it that our programs and initiative­s benefit the children because we believe that they are the hope of tomorrow. Together, let us build a more harmonious and livable home for them,” Santiago added.

This year’s Little Miss Fernandina is chaired by City Budget Officer Eda Pangani ban.

Also present during the event were Councilor BJ Lagman, Pyestang Fernandino 2017 Chairperso­n Boy Santiago and City Local Government Operations Officer Engr. Algy Canlas.

The governor added that the preventive health system is already rolling in and will be going to every barangay in the province.

She enjoined the health workers to mobilize and assist sick people in their community and those who are in need of other medical services.

Governor Pineda expressed belief that the program will help the government save more if it succeeds.

“If this will be successful, there won’t be dialysis patients or others who will ask for chemothera­py. We can save hundreds of millions with this preventive health system,” she said.— Philip Ocampo/ Pampanga PIO
