HOW TO ACE AN EXAM

Let us face it- it is not very easy to get a passing score on your exams, much less a high one that we can be proud of. There will always be times when you don’t achieve what grades your parents expect you to have, despite how well you have performed in the past. Nobody said acing an exam was easy, but it is not impossible either. So here are some tips to help you along the way: 1.Start reviewing a week before the exams. Most students review just day before the actual test, and as a result, we do not get those scores we aim to acquire. To prevent this from happening, begin your review a week before the exam day. Yes, you may forget some details along the way, but you’ll be able to glance over your notes again in the large amount of time you have. In this, you’ll be able to review faster since you’ve already studied those topics before.

2.Take down notes. Don’t be lazy! Whenever your teacher says something not found in your book, immediately write it down on your notebook. Believe me; you wouldn’t want to find yourself wasting time searching endlessly for that particular information.

3.Listen attentively during discussions. In order to fully understand a certain subject, you have to listen and open your ears to your teacher’s lecture. If you don’t pay attention, you might miss some significant points. Who knows, maybe what you missed actually shows up in your exams, and you’ll be able to answer nothing if that ever happens, except, of course, if you make a guess.

4.Have enough sleep. One research showed students who had enough sleep had a better performance on their examinations. Dr. Stijn Baert, the study co-author and a researcher at the University of Ghent, explained that “new knowledge is integrated into our existing knowledge base while we sleep.”
