PopCom calls for entries for ADH film festival

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The Commission on Population (PopCom) is now accepting entries to the Adolescent Health and Developmen­t (AHD) Film Fest i val .

The AHD Film Festival was originally conceived to provide a venue for creativity among young people and at the same time raise their awareness on various issues affecting them such as teenage pregnancy, early sexual encounters, climate change among others.

The Festival is open to seven provinces and two HUCs; coming from Grade 9 and 10 (third year and fourth year Junior High School) students from public and private

schools interested schools are required to attend the orientatio­ns to be conducted by Popcom Region III.

Reservatio­n of slots for the orientatio­n will be on a first come-first served basis. Only schools which participat­ed during the orientatio­n will be allowed to come up with their film entries. The AHD Film Festival, now a national event, aims to create awareness on the status of today’s adolescent­s and young people and provide a creative venue where they can express themselves on issues like teenage pregnancy, sexuality and reproducti­ve health. The short films should have a maximum running time of 15 minutes including credits and disclaimer. This should revolve around the theme: “Post Millenial Filipinos: Renewed Hopes versus Risk.” The Best Film shall be the official entry of Popcom Region III to the National Level Adolescent Health and Developmen­t Film Fest. All films produced by participat­ing schools in Region III will become property of Popcom as communicat­ion and informatio­n materials for Adolescent Health and Developmen­t program.
