Garbo allots P15-M for medical assistance
MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said he has allotted P15-million to help his indigent constituents who need medical assistance.
“On the medical assistance, I have allotted P15million (from June to December) and it was already approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod,” Garbo said.
The mayor said he formed a medical team in line with his administration’s medical services program.
“My medical team is already complete. I have two general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, two ophthalmologists, a nephrologist for our dialysis patients and an oncologist for our cancer patients,” Garbo said.
Aside from the medical services, the mayor said he has also launched burial assistance program.
Some P10-million was appropriated for the free burial program, according to him.
In addition to these, Garbo said he has allotted P15-million for the hospital bill assistance program.
The funds will be used to provide assistance to patients admitted to private hospitals, the mayor said.
“We classify the patients according to their social status. We have category A,B,C, and if you are [classified as] Category D and poorest of the poor, you will receive assistance from the city government and your bill will all be free of charge,” Garbo said.
Garbo said he has forged an agreement with private hospital like the Saint Raphael Medical Center in Mabalacat City, Garcia Medical Center in nearby Angeles City, the Medical City in Clark, and Angeles University Foundation Medical Center for indigents patients.
“I want my kabalens to feel the health and medical services the city government is providing,” Garbo said.
The mayor also vowed that he will focus on education, traffic management, and peace and order.
