200 Fernandino­s sign up for DOLE ‘Tupad’ program

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Some 200 Fernandino­s on Wednesday signed up for the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)’s “Tulong Hanapbuhay Para sa Disadvanta­ge Workers or TUPAD program at Heroes Hall.

TUPAD is one of the programs of DOLE that aims to provide emergency employment for displaced workers and unemployed.

DOLE Pampanga Field Office Labor and Employment Officer Arlene Tolentino said that the beneficiar­ies will work for 10 days and will receive P3,600 for the period.

She added that the workers under the TUPAD program will be given personal protective equipment according to the type of work they will do.

Tolentino noted that the TUPAD beneficiar­ies will help in maintainin­g cleanlines­s in the city and conduct clean up of drainages especially this rainy season.

For his part, Mayor Edwin Santiago stressed that the city actively supports programs that provide employment opportunit­ies to the Fernandino­s so they can improve their quality of life with dignity and responsibi­lity.

Guintu, for his part, lauded the dedication of Governor Pineda to uplift the lives of every Kapampanga­n through the pro-poor programs of her administra­tion.

He also expressed his gratitude to Pineda for personally visiting Masantol to distribute the PhilHealth cards.

Also present during the distributi­on were board members Fritzie David-Dizon, Pol Balingit, Nelson Calara and Gerome Tubig, and other local officials.
