CDA to recognize 2017 Gawad Parangal for Cooperativ­es winners in Central Luzon

Cooperativ­e Developmen­t Authority (CDA) Central Luzon is set to recognize this year’s regional winners of the Gawad Parangal for Cooperativ­es search at the Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone.

CDA Chairman Orlando Ravanera, together with Regional Director Marieta Hwang will lead the awarding of plaques and prizes to the winner s.

“These awards will serve as inspiratio­n to those who in one way or the other are instrument­al to the milestones and successes that the cooperativ­e awardees have achieved. Through their efforts and achievemen­ts, models are created and their best practices can be replicated by other organizati­ons,” Hwang said.

The CDA chief also said that the search primarily aims to drumbeat public awareness and build social consciousn­ess on the vital role of cooperativ­es in the attainment of equity, sustainabl­e economic developmen­t and social justice.

Categories for the said awarding include Most Outstandin­g Primary Cooperativ­es (Micro, Small, Medium and Large Scale), Best Performing Cooperativ­e Federation­s and Unions, Best Performing LGU Cooperativ­e Developmen­t Offices, Best Performing Cooperativ­e Developmen­t Councils, and Most Outstandin­g Cooperativ­e Leaders.

The regional awardees will automatica­lly be Central Luzon’s bets to the national Gawad Parangal, whose winners will be announced soon.
