THE DILEMMA OF SPIRAL PROGRESSION

-

JERRY B. MORALES

Knowledge is power. This is the famous quotation I always heard in radio program at DZBB. The radio program was entitled KNOWLEDGE POWER. It was anchored by the Late Ernie Baron. The program was very informative.it was my favorite program during my high school years. I had learned a lot of things on that program. It tickled my mind in the field of science.

Science is a vast field. Almost of the things you may think under the sun is directly or indirectly related to science. It gives you information about the vastness of the universe and the intricacies of the human body. Knowledge that you obtain from science will be your passport to survival.

The fascination in Science led young people to pursue courses related to Science. Some of these courses are BS Biology, BS Physics, BS Biochem, and BS Nursing. All of these courses require concentration and great effort to study. And not to mention a considerable amount of money being spent.

After graduating in these courses, you can be employed in private and public offices. One of their favorite agency is the Department of Education. The department welcomes this scientists in the field of teaching. All went well for these scientists-teachers. They were making noises in their specific fields. Until theK-12 program enters the scene.

Alas! They were caught unprepared. These teachers are specialized in their chosen field. How can they give justice to the topics that they are unfamiliar? This is the sentiment of my classmate in the graduate studies. She is a nurse by heart and a teacher by profession. She found difficulty in Organic chemistry. She is very careful in delivering the lessons in Physics.

My classmate is a clear representation of the teachers who are struggling every day in the field. Some teachers may deny the situation. Others are taking as a challenge. They are taking it one step at a time. In this way, struggles were fought and learned from the experience.
