RELENTLESS TARDINESS

Thou shall not be late. How significant is tardiness at work? How often do you get to work in time? Compare it to the times you were late for work. Do you still even care if you are late? Do you care that your tardiness exacts a toll on your work performance? These are just some of the questions you certainly need to ask yourself if you want to be an efficient and effective employee.

Assess yourself if you are concerned about your relentless tardiness. The number of times you get to work late and the number of times you came to work early will have a different result on your approach on work and the work itself. The late entrance of an employee is disruptive to the work flow of the company. It is often difficult for employees to continue to do their own tasks when a fellow employee arrives and gets his work station ready. With this fact, it is safe to say that if you are not punctual for your work, both you and your co-employees suffer, and if this progress, the whole department/ company. An employee with punctuality issues serves as a poor role model. Even if the worker is exemplary in every other area of the job, this one flaw can damage his/ her work reputation. The act of frequent tardiness can lead others in the company to question the worker’s commitment, work ethic and organizational skills.

So as not to affect the company, every employee must observe punctuality. The best way to obtain this is through self-discipline. One must be guided accordingly on the causes and effects of tardiness. If an individual is knowledgeableaboutthetolloftardinessonworkandcaresabouthis/herperformance, punctuality will be promoted. As long as the employee values his/ her job, effectivity and efficiency will be endorsed to all other employees resulting to outstanding performance by the whole organization.
