Environmental Practitioners In Action
Environmental Practitioners Association or simply EPA is a nonstock, non-profit organization that fosters ‘best environmental practices’. It promotes government initiatives over sound environment and safety management within work sites. It is a tangible response to an ever-increasing demand for responsible management or promotion of self-regulation which is generated towards ISO Certification such as QMS, EMS, OHSAS, and the like.
EPA is duly-registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 25 July 2001 with Registration Certificate No A2001110777. Being true to its vision and mission, its memberships have increased.
As of 14 August 2017, EPA has 85-member companies plus honorary members - DENR, DOH, DOST, SBMA Ecology Center, ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan, and MACCI.
EPA is duly-recognized by the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources and regularly being invited to participate on different plenary or fora, particularly on proposed environmental laws.
DENR likewise recognizes the EPA and become partners on several programs, projects, and advocacies of both DENR and EPA such as Adoptan-Estero project, Recyclables Collection Events, Industrial Ecowatch, PCO seminars/training courses, climate change adaptation/mitigation initiatives, Industrial Fire Brigade Competition, Earth Hour, beach clean-up, tree planting, etc.
EPA encourages all institutions/ organizations that regard human life and environment as precious assets for ‘sustainable development’. It embraces practitioners of environment, health & safety, and pollution control. Memberorganization can designate their most able representative(s) from the said field(s) of practice.
The EPA will be the premier national organization of environmental professionals committed to the protection and conservation of the environment and to the realization of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
To enhance proficient, efficient and responsible environmental professionals performing within the highest ethical standards through continuous capacity bui lding.
To expand EPA coverage to a national level through linkages with other organizations.
To foster environmental protection and conservation initiatives through the intensification of the implementation of best environmental practices including health, safety and security consistent with the principle of sustainable development.
To advocate national programs and initiatives on health, safety, security and environment through the conduct of public awareness and information, education and communication campaigns and active participation in national environmental policy formul at i on.
EPA believes that no boundaries exist between institutions, as we share and affect the same atmosphere above us. It, therefore, relies on true commitment or organizations and individuals with unwavering ideals in promoting a better workplace and sound environment. Shared expertise and logistics among members to foster optimum use of resources and strengthen developmental aspirations. It is an organization that sustains itself financially from memberships and goodwill.
