TEACHER’S ROLE FOR EFFECTIVE PLANNING OF LEARNING DIVERSITY

Embedding diversity in the curriculum means ensuring that there is accessibility to the same learning resources and have equal opportunity of success in terms of quality education. With this teacher’s role is very significant towards effective planning of learning diversity. Diversity creates an environment in which all learners feel welcome in the learning community. This signifies that education is for all. In this 21st century education, student displayed individual differences. Teachers must utilize variety of learning enhancement activities and approaches to meet the learning goals. Learners must be exposed to critical thinking when they can enhance their skills in achieving success.
During the traditional type of teaching, one approach fits all. Nowadays, teachers should plan and implement student – centred learning approach. Included in this millennial curriculum are innovative learning strategies and approaches like collaborative learning, inquiry – based which are encouraged to use in the teaching – learning process. This approaches, if properly implemented, are helpful in improving the academic achievement of the learners.
It is indeed a significant contribution in successful learning when a teacher develops productive learners. Better inputs produce better outputs. If teachers performed better teaching with their best efforts and capabilities in fulfilling goals of producing globally competitive learners, therefore, quality education will be achieved.
It is then recommended to all teachers not to focus on one teaching approach but instead, offer a variety of methods that are suited to very learner’s capacity. Commitment and passion of both teachers and learners produce effective and efficient learning.
