SPED AND SPECIAL NEEDS
ELSIE T. DELOS SANTOS The viability, effectivity, and productivity of SPED in the elementary level are in the focusing, concentrating and catering to the student needs (SN).
Further, in any preliminary approaches or consultations before the prescribing/writing of any medications or activities is the formal or informal exchanging of information between the practitioner and his/ her parents.
In like manner the establishing of the needs of the student begins with routinary diagnostic tests, whether physical or mental. In other words, to determine the special needs of the students the first thing to be done by the teacher is the diagnostic test or interview , dexterity or manipulations and/ or physical examination to find out / determine what the obstructions or impediments are in the learning abilities/ capabilities of the child.
Once the impediment is discovered, then the necessary intervention commences to improve/ enhance the learning process.
In MAPEH, are there the amiable assistances/ supporters of the school physician who are capable of knowing/ discovering the physical infirmities of the students. Whether inside or outside the school, the student is subjected to a lot of diagnostic examination to determine what impede the learning process as in the hearing and seeing of a child.
