-

OLIVIA O. STEPHANT

The teachers, being the focal figure of education must be knowledgeable and competent for them to produce better teaching to their learners. Effective teaching in the K to 12 Curriculum focuses on the holistic development of the learners. It is always a fact that as teachers, we play varied and significant role in the learning environment.

Teachers are considered as the light in the classroom. There are important responsibilities which are being entrusted to all the teachers. Everyday, it is indeed a challenging job to motivate students in performing their learning task in each subject area.

Based on my experiences in teaching, I believed that effective teaching style will increase the learners’motivation in the teaching learning process. Teachers’teaching style is said to be effective approach when the learning takes place.

Nowadays, one teaching approach is no longer applicable in the modern trend of education curriculum. Teachers as educators must recognize individual differences among his/her learners and utilize instructions that are best suited to the learners. Moreover, teaching style has impact on students’academic performance.

It is a challenging part of the teacher to adjust on the instructions or approaches just to capture learners’interests. Teachers must have variety of teaching styles or techniques in order to maintain the interest of the students. Exerting effort in leading the students into lifelong learning that is stimulating and satisfying must be done by the teachers. In addition teachers must recognize the classroom diversity. This includes culture, ethnicity, gender, language abilities and interests. These are the factors that must be considered by the teachers in motivating the students.

Finally, the success of the students’learning really depends on the teachers’capabilities. Allowing the learners to explore different learning enhancement activities can increase their motivation in performing better in the classroom. This is anchored on the Deped Core objective “Make Education Truly Liberating”. With this, teachers are encouraged to exhibit their festival of teaching techniques and styles to create a productive citizen of the country.
