IBM showcases IT products, solutions in Pampanga
IBM PHILIPPINES and Macrologic Diversified Technologies Inc. on Wednesday teamed up to introduce IBM’s reliable and competitive product lines as well as its innovative IT solutions that are new in the market.
The event which was held at Park Inn by Rad i sson , Clark Freeport, was attended by various representatives from different companies and industries, who were treated to a lively demonstration and discussion from the IBM experts.
IBM Philippines Client Technical Special Edward Navarro shared that among IBM’s wellacclaimed product is its IBM Systems Storage portfolio which includes disk, flash, tape, NAS storage products, storage software, and servi ces.
“IBM storage solutions provide the speed and performance of ready data access with the agility and efficiency of hybrid cloud and software-defined storage. By connecting data across any architecture, storage from IBM delivers deeper insights faster, giving you the edge to outthink and outperform your competition and win in the cognitive era,” he said.
He noted that products under this portfolio include the IBM Flashcore and its AllFlash solutions like the improved FlashSystem V9000, Storwize V7000 Gen2, and Storwize V5000 Gen2.
He highlighted that the Flash System V9000 is great for database and VDI workloads of small data centers as it accelerate, migrate, tier, clone, replicate, and compress existing storage up to 630K IOPS, with 57TB usable storage.
The new Storwize V7000 Gen2 storage, on the other hand, is a more powerful platform as it is twice better than its predecessor or the previous Storwize V7000.
“This is an industry first hardware which provides dedicate processing power and greater throughput for compression. It also powered by Intel QuickAssist technology,” he stressed.
Moreover, IBM Power Technical Advocate Mervin Bunag showcased the capabilities of IBM Power Systems.
He noted that it is the industry-leading solution which takes pride of its performance, resilience, and virtualization flexibility for business-critical computing.
“IBM Power Systems are serves designed for mission-critical applications and emerging cognitive era workloads. It is designed to deliver efficiency, whether deployed in a private, public, or hybrid cloud,” he sai d.
Under its Open Power Linux Cluster (LC) Systems, it has several product lines which includes the S812LC, S822LC-GCA, and S822LC-GTA.
Bunag cited that to date, there are over 2,300 Linux ISV’s developing on IBM Power.
For her part, IBM Philippines Channel Sales Manager invited companies and business leaders to consider IBM for their IT needs.
