CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The chiefs of police of three Pampanga towns on Monday received recognition from the Barangay Drug Clearing Oversight Committee in a simple ceremony held at Camp Olivas here.

Masantol Chief Inspector Julius Javier, Minalin Chief Inspector Pearl Joy Gollayan and Santo Tomas’ Chief Inspector Romwald Basa were acknowledged after successfully leading their operatives in stamping out illegal drugs in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

The awarding was led by newly-installed Central Luzon Police Director Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III Director Ismael Fajardo, Jr.

Under Javier’s leadership, all the 26 barangays in Masantol became compliant to the 14 parameters to be a drug-cleared town and made Masantol the first drug-cleared town in the whole of Central Luzon.

Minalin, meanwhile, cleared its four villages namely San Francisco, Bulac, Saplad and Maniago from illegal drug menace under the leadership of Gollayan.

Basa was also recognized for making Barangay Sto. Rosario Pau in Sto. Tomas town the first drug-cleared village in Pampanga under the new Dangerous Drug Board directive. During the recognition rites, Corpus cited the noteworthy performance and efforts of the three police chiefs in the campaign against illegal drugs of the Philippine National Police. He expressed his hopes that their performance will be sustained under his leadership as he urged other police chiefs from other Pampanga towns to emulate their efforts.
