Montano vows to support Pampanga tourism

-

LUBAO – The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) has pledged to support the provincial government of Pampanga in promoting its tourism i ndust r y.

This was gleaned during the meeting of TPB Chief Operation Officer Cesar Montano with the former President and now Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres for the “Visit Pampanga Year 2018”held at Pradera Verde, this town, r ecen t l y.

“Naniniwala ako na napakaganda ng Pampanga. There are so many things to offer, not to mention the food, syempre (of course),” Montano said.

The promotions board chief is also keen on pushing “film tourism” that will highlight the province’s people, events and places that are worthy to visit.

Montano said their agency can allocate a budget for filmmakers to create stories that will help promote the province and the country in general.

“Film tourism is the most powerful vehicle to promote our tourism. Isa tayo sa pinakamamagagaling na gumawa ng pelikula at napakarami nating kwento at napakarami nating magagandang lugar na talagang dapat i-share,” he said.

Montano added that films have proven their effectiveness in tourism promotion as New Zealand, New York and other cities already benefitted from it.

Pampanga Mayor’s League President and Lubao Mayor Pineda-Cayabyab, for her part, expressed optimism in the plans of Montano and added that it will be a tool to entice tourists to visit and spend time in Pampanga.— Liezel Cayanan/ Pampanga PIO
