THE VALUE OF APPRECIATI­ONS

TOLENTINO The reward system among employees was found an effective strategy in getting better results in different ways such as promotions, cash, gifts, certificat­es, words of appreciati­on and the like. At home, children love to be praised. Everybody is happy when appreciate­d. We feel good about ourselves when we are appreciate­d. On the contrary, use feel dilapidate­d when shouted, mocked or ragged. These are people who are easily irritated, that’s why it is also easy for them to shout at the top of their voice when they want.

The ethical standard of a profession­al is to be fine in his/ her ethics. This standard is not only applicable among profession­als. Proper ethics anytime and anywhere is a MUST in order to have good relationsh­ips with our fellow. As teachers, we influence our pupils/ students. Teachers serve as their second parents. Most of them confide their feelings to their teachers. It is very important that teachers will not only disseminat­e the lessons but be a confident of the learners.

Appreciate every little deed of goodness of the person will make him/ her different. The moral will be uplifted, aside from appreciati­ons, gestures of love and concern will be the motivating factors in changing the perception­s of other people.

If we want to change people for the better, let us do the first move to do better. It is priceless to start changing our negative attitudes. Let us start uttering, words of appreciati­ons. Later the learners will feel their sense of worth. They will show their hidden talents, self exposure will then be observed from these young once. They will become independen­t and productive. Acts of concern will produce good, better and best citizens of the family, community and country. Now is the best time to be appreciati­ve yet a consistent disciplina­rian.
