CSF hosts CSC’s concert for a cause
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— In line with the celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office Pampanga in partnership with the City Government of San Fernando conducted a concert for a cause over the weekend at Heroes Hall.
Dubbed “Sayaw at Awit ng mga Lingkod Bayani,” the activity was attended by council of personnel officers and local government unit employees of Pampanga who P100 pesos each for the tickets. The proceeds will go to the soldiers of Marawi and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth, a home for the poor and people with special needs in Mabalacat City.
The highlight of the concert was “The Voice of Lingkod Bayani,” where six contenders from different municipalities showcased their talents in beating the high notes including City of San Fernando’s bet Jean Paula Lingat who bagged the second place.
The City Choir of San Fernando and City College of San Fernando Dance Troupe also performed intermission numbers.
CSC Field Office Pampanga Director Dulce Cochon expressed her gratitude to the local government unit of San Fernando for putting in their efforts to make the concert possible and successful.
She also lauded the civil servants for their outstanding contributions in public service and encouraged them to do what is right to better serve the people towards development.
“Pag-igihan pa sana natin ang ating trabaho upang makapaghatid tayo ng maayos na serbisyo sa ating kapwa,” Cochon said.
In an interview, Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago said the concert clearly manifests the civil servants’ act of “malasakit” to the public especially to those who are in need.
“You play an integral part in the society in achieving accountability, transparency and efficient government. Kaisa din namin kayo sa pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng ating kapwa. Sa lahat ng inyong gagawin, laging isaalang-alang ang kapakanan ng bawat isa at inyong pairalin ang pagkakaroon ng malasakit sa bayan,”Santiago said.— CSF-CIO
