Illegal gambling ops nets ‘bookies’
CAMP OLIVAS — Police authorities in Central Luzon arrested seven persons suspected of being “bookies” and confiscated several illegal gambling paraphernalia including collection money in several parts of Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan over the weekend as part of the regional anti-gambling operations.
In Pampanga, Mexico police operatives conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Divisoria which resulted to the arrest of Jocelyn Colis, a resident of the said place who was caught in the act of collecting bets for illegal an numbers game.
Confiscated from Colis’ possession were cash bet amounting to P322, three bundle papelitos, salida bola and a ballpen.
Police reports also said that operatives of Cabanatuan City police conducted a series of anti-illegal gambling operations in barangays Super Market, General Luna and Camp Tinio in Cabanatuan City which led to the arrest
of suspects Bolex Castillo, Emilio Corporal, Joven Antonio and Ruben Padilla. All suspects were caught in the act of collecting bets for an illegal numbers game.
Meanwhile, San Ildefonso police operatives conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Matimbubong, San Ildefonso, Bulacan which resulted to the arrest of Leonora Bernardo, married a resident of the said place, who was caught in the act of collecting bets for an illegal numbers game. Confiscated from Bernardo’s possession were cash bet amounting to P260, three bundle papelitos, stapler and two ballpens.
