IGNITE, CSF KNIGHTS!

-

ERICKA F. SAN PEDRO

For more than a decade, the city of San Fernando, with their team name CSF Knights, has been participating in the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association Meet (CLRAA). However, the highest rank the city has ever achieved was 6th place, against 17 other divisions in 2016. This year, the city is more eager to compete against Central Luzon’s powerhouses, Bataan, Olongapo City and Bulacan; from hiring high-caliber trainers to creating a team where players from different schools were selected for the core training, and will have a same goal, which is to win the top spot.

Will they achieve this goal this CLRAA 2018? No. They are still in the stage of building the foundation. Building a foundation does not mean to solely rely on the core training the city had put up. Every school needs support through; (1) equipping coaches, (2) providing conducive training facilities and equipment, (3) and continuous support from parents. Trainings and seminars for coaches have started rolling out last summer but the improvement of facilities and the provision of equipment are financially challenging. Aside from the moral and financial support given by the parents, they are also needed in monitoring their child’s other activities, nutrition, sleeping pattern, which the trainers and the school could not monitor.

Achieving the goal requires more time and effort. Therefore, everyone should unite in igniting the fire of the City of San Fernando Knights to give a tremendous explosion in the future CLRAA Meet. It may not be now, but just a moment later.
