Clark tour company launched

CLARK FREEPORT – GoTours Limited, the first Seat-In-Coach (SIC) tour company inside the Freeport, was launched during a ceremony at the Clark Museum yesterday.

Officials of Clark Developmen­t Corporatio­n (CDC), headed by President Noel Manankil, welcomed the developmen­t and lauded the tour company which committed to promote Clark as an exciting tourist destinatio­n with a two-hour travel package.

With the launching of the Clark City Tour, Manankil said the government and private sectors synergize to boost tourism in the freeport.

Clark City Tour is the initial product of GoTours Ltd. which collaborat­ed with CDC in the initial stages of the said project.

The firm is owned by travel and tour operators in Angeles City -- Gilda Padua and Aurora Agustin.

SIC tours is sharing an air-conditione­d coach or van with other tourists and a tour guide will take the guests to scenic spots listed in the day tour itinerary.

Clark City tour is a timely developmen­t to feature different sites and rich culture of Clark,” said CDC Tourism Manager Noemi Julian.

“The first seat-incoach and regular tour of Clark will allow

tourists to experience the historical past as Clark Museum and 4D Theater are included in the tour and see the evolution of the zone as a premier business and tourism destinatio­n,” she added.

In 2016, four million tourists visited Central Luzon. Of the figure, 30% or 1.2 million tourists have found their way to Clark as sourced from the report on tourists’arrivals by major hotels in the area.

Positive developmen­ts both at Clark Freeport and Clark Internatio­nal Airport, if sustained, will boost tourist arrivals (domestic and foreign) in the next five to 10 years, said Julian.

CDC, together with the local tourism and private sector, initiated a tour for Clark, Angeles and Pampanga, she said.

‘GoTours’ has tied up with the Department of Tourism Region Office III (DOT III), Pampanga Tourism Office, Angeles City Tourism Office, suppliers including participat­ing hotels, restaurant­s and theme parks in Clark and DOT accredited transport providers.

Padua said Clark City tour will showcase this Freeport’s cultural heritage and fast developing business and tourism si t es.

“There’s more to Clark than what you see,” said Padua.
