Integrity

-

NTEGRITY is honesty or being true to oneself and to others. There are people who are sounding so good but there are times that they don’t put their words into actions. Being so is hypocrisy. When there is a difference between what you say and what you do, you create confusion in the minds of other people.

As teachers, we ought to have integrity. A teacher who makes the greatest impact is one whose actions harmonize with his words. Our role as teachers is different from any other profession. We are to be teachers who practice what we preach. Students despise teachers who do not live what they say they believe. That is why we should remain true to our convictions. Consistency of character is what gains the respect of our students.

Our actions are caught by our students. Students want teachers whose words were good, who were known for their honesty, and whom they can trust. Integrity should characterize all teachers, no matter what their position may be.

Just like in our strategy in explicit teaching. We model, we guide, and we let them do what we have modeled. As what a writer once quote, ”whoever would be a teacher of men… let him begin teaching by examples before teaching by words.” Teachers who are known as who do what they say. We are the best visual aids to our students so we must be the kind of person that we wanted them to be
