THEORY OR PRACTICE?

-

JESSICA T. SISON

A theory is devised to give possible details and answer to the problems and issues and giving concern to educational practice. That is why, it is necessary to know that the practice is effective and to further test it.

We employ theory to put in the picture our practice especially when we consider the systematic procedure of pedagogy. We use theories because we would like to make our teaching efficient and useful, these must be based on how teaching, acquisition and learning words methodically and holistically. Or else, if we will just depend on how we know our learners are, naturally, learners are not learning, or a small number of learners will only absorb your lesson. Simply defined, whatever teachers do, if there are no theories and practice, teaching is disorganized, and learners will be confused of what you are really teaching and what are you trying to direct to them.

Practice and theory are connected and interactive vigorously. The inference of this on how we can see their theory and practice connection and interactivity are when the teachers and educational leaders become intellectual-practitioners-an individual who is knowledgeable with regards to theory and utilizes research and critical inquiry to construct knowledge. Teachers should be practitioners who put into practice the generative ideas who open up new paths to learning. — oOo—
