The event was held just a few months after SMFI’s successful medical and dental mission held last August.
Over 1061 beneficiaries from the indigent families of the 17 target barangays in Tarlac City benefitted from the foundation’s free healthcare services such as medical check-up and tooth extraction plus lab tests like fasting blood sugar (FBS), cholesterol, uric acid, and x-ray servi ces.
Doctors also prescribed and distributed medicines immediately after the medical checkup, as part of the“
Gamot Para sa Kapwa” initiative, which was in partnership with The Philippine Red Cross, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation, and Watsons.
Moreover, there were a total of 29 volunteers from Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Camp Aquino Station Hospital, and SM Foundation, Inc. Some were barangay health workers.
The said project was held by SMFI in different SM mall branches nationwide, as the foundation aims to stay true to its commitment to serve by empowering and reaching to the host communities and to spearhead more communityoriented activities.
