UA bags medals on CSDAAM 2017

The University of the Assumption (UA) athletes once again made a mark by winning numerous medals during the City of San Fernando Division Athletic Associatio­n Meet held on September 29October 1.

UA accumulate­d a total of 114 medals comprised of 40 gold, 59 silver, and 15 bronze medals in different sports event. They also bested their opponents winning champion in basketball, 1st runner-up overall in Arnis, and 2nd runner-up in volleyball boys and girls.

Among their opponents were participan­ts from public and private schools in the city.

“To sum it up, our athletes played really well in their respective events,” said Mr. Ulysses Rengel, UA Sports Coordi nat or.

“They also scored 100 percent gold medal winning in Taekwondo, both in girls and boys division. We were also champion in basketball from last year’s first runner-up, and over-all champion in badminton girls and boys,” he added.

Rengel also shared that UA athletes have a good academics-sports balance amidst the trainings and preparatio­ns for the competitio­ns. “We still assure that the athletes are also focused on their academics while they undergo training and sports pr ogr am.”

Gold medalists and selected silver medalists in the CSDAAM will advance to the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Associatio­n Meet to be held on 2018. They will be representi­ng the City of San Fernando.
