SAN SIMON - In an aim to improve the health of every Simonian, the local government here distributed health and wellness products on Tu esday.

The program dubbed “2-in-1 Health Education Program” is a partnership of the local and provincial government which aims to provide micronutrient supplementation to young children.

Mayor Leonora Wong said that 350 pre-schoolers from public schools received packs of formula milk and multivitamins and 300 grade schoolers received multivitamins intended for twomonth supplementation.

“Makikita kasi yung effectivity ng pag-inom ng vitamins after two months na continuous use kaya si Governor Lilia Pi n ed a ay nagprovide ng vitamins at pati na rin gatas na magagamit for two months ng mga bata,” she explained.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries also received dental kits which include toothbrushes and toothpastes as part of the celebration of Oral Health Awareness Week.

Wong said that oral healthcare is one if the concerns of the Municipal Health Office (MHO) as it one of the important contributors to overall well-being of a person.

“Gu st o natin kumpleto, mula sa malusog na pangangatawan hanggang sa maayos na oral health kaya isinabay na rin natin,” she said.

Aside from distribution of gift packs, MHO Dr. Marline Bagtas and Municipal Dentist Dr. Rachelle Manlapaz also conducted seminars to inform parents of the importance of maintaining the health of their families.

This includes talks on the importance of oral hygiene and benefits of taking milk and multivitamins on the growth of the children.
