Masantol town hall up for renovation
MASANTOL
- In a bid to improve delivery of public service, local officials of this town recently broke ground for the renovation of the old municipal Building here.
Led by Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc and Mayor Danilo S. Guintu, the infrastructure project has an initial budget of P6.6-million and will be facilitated by the Department of Public Works and H i ghw ays.
Guintu said that the Old Municipal Building currently houses different government offices such as the Municipal Social Welfare and Development, Municipal Assessor, Senior Citizen's Association and Treasury Office, among others.
As of now, the
building experiences minimal flooding due to the road upgrading around its vicinity and its renovation is essential.
"Tinaas po natin ang daan sa paligid ng munisipyo, halos buong metro sa plaza at kapag hindi natin isinabay itong lumang munisipyo ay talagang babahain at baka hindi mapakinabangan ng tao sa tag-ulan," he said.
He added that aesthetics of the building will likewise be improved for the comfort of the public, especially that offices in it are mostly for social work.
Guintu also disclosed that the newly constructed three-storey building will be connected to the Executive and Legislative Building for faster processing and delivery of public service.
Bondoc, for his part, said that the national government is always supportive of the projects implemented by local government for the benefit of the Filipino.
"Ang national at local government ay iisang ang mithiin na maisayos ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng ganitong programa," he said.
