All about magic

From

nothing to something, one of the popular businesses for 13 years in Luzon is “The Amazing Show.”

Formerly known as “Mystical Magic Show,” this business is about producing educational variety shows featuring puppets, magic, mascots and even about the environment, in day care centers.

At the age of 30, Arnel “Dong” Ronquillo, owner of the company and a resident here, started his business from scratch - limiting it geographically in Angeles City. But when its first event - a mascot and puppet show regarding proper segregation of waste - was a success, that was the time that his company became popular in different schools all over Luzon. Word of mouth was such a big help, according to Ronquillo.

Ronquillo said he thought of putting up the business one day, after he was handed a flyer as he was heading for work. The flyer had the headline “magician” written on it, and he came up with the idea to try this business since it was in demand.

Taking the risk and just receiving P10,000 for his first event, he took this as an inspiration to strive for more.

As he earned more and more, he realized he was a volunteer also at heart - Ronquillo donated a part of his earnings to the day care center where he performs his event for the improvement of the school's infrastructure.

When asked about his advice to those people who want to start up a business, he said, "Have passion. Huwag ka magsimula ng isang bagay na hindi mo gusto. At wala sa edad 'yan kung kailan mo ba dapat itayo business mo. Sipag lang at dedikasyon. At kapag may kinikita ka na, matuto kang mag-share at magpasalamat sa Panginoon."

Today, Ronquillo is also producing books for day care centers.
