ANGELES CITY- A heartfelt and exuberant rally for peace was held on the second night of the silver anniversary of the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan (TTKD) where the attendees sang for peace and love, October 28 in Barangay Balibago.

League of the Cities of the Philippines President and the adviser for the ongoing Peace Panel of the Philippines, Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan led the TTKD-goers to an inspirational rally for peace dedicated to the people of Marawi and the victims of acts of terrorism, violence, and war from all over the world.

“This peace rally aims to show that we are one with the people around the world affected by acts of cruelty in achieving world peace. We, Angeleños have experienced the devastating eruption of Mount Pinatubo and we would like to help uplift the spirits of all the victims like how we did in 1992,” said Pamintuan.

The crowd sang along to the rendition of the “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles and waved white “flags for peace” in support for the mayor’s rally for peace. The song for peace is a call for love, understanding, and equality to achieve peace that the country and the world need in the trying times.

The chief executive of the city wanted to convey a message of resiliency and urged the Filipinos to rise again from the hopelessness and live again as what Angeles has done when the Mount Pinatubo er upt ed.

“I firmly believe that if everyone unites and come to respect and understand each other, then peace will be achieved,” added Pamintuan.— AC-CIO
