Top cop assures public’s safety

ITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Police Regional III (PRO-3) yesterday assured the public of intensifie­d police operations to ensure safe and peaceful observance of All Saints’and Souls’Day.

PRO-3 Director Chief Superinten­dent Amador Corpus said that the whole Central Luzon police will be on full force to cover all cemeteries, transport terminals and other convergenc­e points in the regi on.

He said that he has deployed more than 4,000 police personnel in the seven provinces to monitor situation and maintain peace and order in public places.

He added that motorist assistance centers manned by road safety marshalls are also installed in major and secondary thoroughfa­res to provide round the clock assistance to motorists and commuters travelling this holiday season.

Corpus also disclosed that he directed all provincial, city and municipal directors to ensure maximum police presence to discourage

any criminal activities and provide quick response to public.

“I have directed our provincial and city and municipal directors from all stations to continuous­ly conduct police focused operations and sustain the level of alertness and vigilance to avoid any untoward incidents during the whole observance of All Saints’Day and Souls’Day,” he said.

Corpus, meanwhile, reminded the public to monitor their surroundin­gs and immediatel­y report to police any suspicious activities.

He also asked for the cooperatio­n of the public on the police operations, particular­ly checkpoint­s, that will be implemente­d throughout the holiday season.

“I want to remind our public to also be wary and alert so as not to give lawless elements the opportunit­y to carry out their nefarious activities. While we have already disseminat­ed all safety tips and we also establishe­d police assistance desks. Do not hesitate to report any incident to the police,” he said.
