Road Warriors excited to build on Govs' Cup campaign with Ravena

-

The NLEX Road Warriors got a favorable spot in the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft because of their poor performance in the Philippine and Commissioner's Cups.

However, this is now all in the past as the team led by head coach Yeng Guiao turned a new page in their franchise in the Governors' Cup and now they're hoping that adding Keifer Ravena into their roster will make them an even better team.

"He's an immediate impact player. He's an intelligent player who will fit right into our system. He's a winner, he's a goto guy," Guiao said after joining their new player on stage. "But he also can make his teammates better because he's the type of player who will make right decisions during the game."

According to NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre, getting Ravena was their plan all along.

"We got what we wanted. We're happy to have him in the team and hopefully he can help us build on what we have started in the last conference," Dulatre said.

"We see him as an immediate impact player because of his experience both locally and internationally. I don't consider him as a rookie. He's already 24 and alam naman natin how high his IQ is."

Aside from Ravena, the Road Warriors also added John Grospe, Gabriel Dagangon, and Felix Apreku who all fit the mold of the players that Guiao wants for his squad. All of these three incoming rookies are hard workers who are solid defenders.

"We're forecasting a better season ahead of us," Dulatre added. "What we're focusing on right now is to add another big man this week and when we do that I think we can target the semi-finals."
