Cancer patients benefit from CL Suppliers’ Ball
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Event organizers and suppliers from all over Central Luzon raised funds to help children suffering from different types of cancer.
Cancer patients from the Kythe Foundation, Inc. were the chosen beneficiaries of the fourth Central Luzon Event Suppliers’Ball held recently at the Bella Plaza, Tarlac City, said organizer and Flowers and Beyond owner Aris Santos.
Santos said that the annual social, participated in by around 300 event suppliers, aims to unite and create a smooth relationship in the industry of event organizing, which is very important to provide better services to their respective clients.
“Our aim here is to create relationship sa aming mga suppliers. ‘Yung makilala namin ang isa’-isa, kahit ‘hi’at ‘hello’lang. Hindi naman kasi dahil iisang industriya, dapat kompetisyon. Ang gusto natin maging healthy ang relationship,” he said.
He added that the ball also provides a chance for newbie suppliers to introduce themselves, as well as for experts to share their knowledge about the beauty of the industry and flourish a smooth working relationship among each other.
He added that this year’s social ball is made even more special since 30 percent of the P500 entrance ticket will be donated to the Kythe Foundation which helps children with cancer on their medical needs.
On the ticket sales alone, Santos said that the group was already able to collect some around P45,000. This is aside from the P18,500 funds raised from the “Charity Tree” where participants hang red envelopes containing cash donations.
“This is a very significant event because we weren’t only given a chance to bond, but also to help children who really need assistance both financially and morally,” he said.
The funds raised were personally turned-over to Kythe Foundation Inc. Representative Carmina Gomez during the event.
Gomez, who is an acute lymphosiatic leukemia survivor herself, expressed her gratitude in behalf of the foundation for choosing them as beneficiaries. She stressed that the funds raised will go a long way in helping the patients and their families.
“With your generosity, you are able to extend the lives of children who are battling with cancer,” she said.
