THE SE­NIOR CIT­I­ZENS of Ma­bal­a­cat City were treated to a Cul­tural and Sports De­vel­op­ment ac­tiv­ity on De­cem­ber 1, 2017 at the Jade Hall, Xev­era, Tabun, cour­tesy of the Of­fice of Se­nior Af­fairs or OSCA.

Pro­grammed to be Fun for Se­niors, the ac­tiv­ity started with the singing of the Philip­pine Na­tional An­them, fol­lowed by Himno ning Ka­pam­pan­gan and Himno ning Ma­bal acat.

Ms. En­gra­cia G. Di­zon, OSCA Head, de­liv­ered the wel­come re­marks, igniting the start of the pro­gram proper.

Tere­sita M. Galang, OSCA staff, read the list of par­tic­i­pants. Ms. Rose­marie An­to­nio, FSCAM Vice Pres­i­dent, pre­sented the Board of Judges for the singing and dance con­tests: Cezar “JC” Maru­cut, head of the city gov­ern­ment Co­op­er­a­tive De­vel­op­ment Of­fice; Agri­cul­ture, GSO staff or­ga­niz­erMs. Ma­bal­a­cat Arnold Dungca and PAC grad­u­ate/ de­signer/ choreographer Wency Martin. The cri­te­ria for the dance con­test were spelled out by Ms. An­to­nio.

Ms. Vic­to­ria “Vida” Di­zon of the Of­fice of the City Vice Mayor, acted as the master of cer­e­mon i es.

Mr. Apoli­nario Pare, FSCAM Pres­i­dent made the clos­ing rem ar k s.

The sec­ond part of the day’s ac­tiv­i­ties in­volved the in­door games: dama, chess, cup stock­ing and Jack and Poy.

* * * Emerg­ing win­ners in the Chess and Dama games were: Arnold Ed­ward, 1st place; Resti­tuto Magsino, 2nd and Edil­berto Manuel, 3rd. Mr. Sa­gad of OSCA acted as um­pire and mod­er­a­tor.

In Dama, 1st place went to Os­car Mer­cado; 2nd to Riza­lino Tua­zon and 3rd was Juanito Pas­cua.

In the Jack and Poy game, 1st placer was Martin Manalo of San Fran­cisco; 2nd place-Vi­o­leta Tua­zon of Sta. Ines and 3rd-Flora Cabu­san of Sa­pang Bi­abas.

In the Singing con­test: 1st place-Mel­chor Rivera; 2ndLeonardo Gre­go­rio of San Fran­cisco; 3rd-Remi­gio Si­cat also of San Fran­cisco and 4th-Ligaya Cu­nanan of Mar­cos Vil­lage.

In the Dance con­test, Rose­marie An­to­nio gar­nered 1st place; in 2nd place was Eu­nice Dacillo and in 3rd place was Vir­ginia Pan­gan.

Lastly, in the cup stock­ing tiff, 1st place went to Os­car Mer­cado; 2nd-Ofe­lia Evan­ge­lista and 3rdMercedes Gri­vas.
